1. About the Company

DNA.Land was started to harness existing genetic data for research built by scientists trained at MIT, NYU, and Tel Aviv University. They have been operating as an independent site since October 2019 but plan to keep all services free.

DNA.Land has partnered with research organizations, such as the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), to provide large databases of genetic information for research purposes. To recruit users, DNA.Land provides free DNA analysis for ancestry and inherited traits, as well as relative matching. Keep reading to learn how to use DNA.Land and see what kinds of things you can learn!

2. Test Results and Sample Reports

By uploading your genetic data to DNA.Land, you will get access to several different reports, including ancestry, relative matching, and various trait predictions. The ancestry report provides an ethnicity estimate as well as a map of where your ancestors may have lived.

In addition to the ancestry report, DNA.Land provides a relative matching feature. The relative matching feature finds the genetic relatives you may have on the DNA.Land database. It also shows you how closely you are related to the person (father, aunt, grandparent, etc.), and the report has a chromosome browser to show which segments of DNA you have in common with each person.

While DNA.Land does not provide genetic DNA testing for health risk information it does provides a report on trait prediction. This report will scan your DNA to predict things like eye color, height, and educational attainment. By filling out surveys, you can help the researchers at DNA.Land better understand how genetics impact these traits.

3. Reviews

Wish to know whether DNA.Land is safe? The online customer reviews for DNA.Land are very few. However, the company has gotten a pretty fair shake from DNA test reviewers. Check out the articles below to learn more!

4. Cost

One great thing about DNA.Land is that all of the services above are free! The basic reports are available after you upload your DNA file, and you can access other reports by simply filling out surveys. These surveys help researchers better understand how DNA impacts certain traits and health risks and only take a minute or two to fill out. See the DNA.Land Terms of Consent to see exactly how your DNA will be used.

5. Other Places to Use Raw DNA Data

While DNA.Land is a great choice for using your DNA Testing Kit’s results from 23andMe, MyHeritage, or AncestryDNA data, there are many other services you can use to reanalyze your raw data file. Many of the sites also offer a free analysis of your data. Some of them are specific to ancestry and family matching while others will give you information about specific traits, such as nutrition, wellness, or fitness.
